This curtain wall was one of several extensive changes made to the building in 2010 by Ingleton Wood LLP.

I think they should ask for their money back!
(Only half kidding!).

It's not the friendliest-looking building, for sure, Andy.

Do those act like Venetian blinds, adjustable by command of some type?

According to the Royal Institute of British Architects, Bob, this is a brise-soleil. It's intended to allow low-level sun to enter the building in winter and keep high-level sun out in summer, which is what my upstairs neighbour's balcony does for me, so I guess it's a brise-soleil, too. Anyway, it doesn't operate like a Venetian blind -- all the photos I've seen of it look like this one.

The building may look spartan, but a well composed image, John.

I like the (sort of) symmetry here John.............and George's description of it as spartan, is perfect.

I can't decide whether this is a natural monochrome image or whether you've processed it that way.............but it works!

Thanks, Keith. It's a colour image, but there were no colours around at the time.

I love the symmetry, John, and the contrast between horizontal and vertical lines. The limited palette makes this almost look like a monochrome image. All the best, Joe

Thanks, Joe. You have a keen eye. This is indeed not a monochrome photo, just a colour photo taken on a gloomy day. There is still some blue in it, to my ees, and some brown.
