The Audience

The Audience
Another sculpture by Michael Snow, this time at Rogers Centre in Toronto. The Rogers Centre is the largest stadium in Toronto, and the home stadium of the Toronto Blue Jays of the American (baseball) League. If the Jays ever leave town we'll have the world's largest flea market with a retractable roof.

Anyway, Snow designed two sets of gargoyles for the stadium, and this is the lower of two tiers of one of them, seen from below. Collectively they are called The Audience.

I like what I can see of this statue John..........but I'm intrigued by your composition. I'm sure it will all become clear soon, if you are going to post the upper of the two tiers in due course.

Let me get this right. The sculptor is telling us that photographers are gargoyles? I'd rather think that one photographer is looking up , to take a picture of a stone photographer looking down, a clever idea.

Well, these aren't really gargoyles, Bob, because they don't have drainage spouts. I suspect I took the photo because the the statue had a photographer looking down, though.

I have posted links to photos of the two complete sets of statues in the description.

Well composed, John. I love the colour contrast between the brown and the blue. All the best, Joe
