Martine Schioldan (1888-1918) - 1913
My maternal grandmother Martine Jensen, born Schioldan. This was probably her wedding picture.
Born 17.07.1888 in Dronninglund, Denmark. Married 22.06.1913 to farmer Lars Severin Jensen. Died 29.12.1918 from the Spanish Flue leaving her husband with three little children aged 2, 3 and 4.
My mother was the middle one and she later told that her very first memories were those of her mother's coffin in the living room as customary was back then. Lars Severin later remarried and had 9 more children. No less... :)
