My mother, Lily, in the middle with her brother Max and sister Maren. Probably the annual Christmas photo, taken by a photographer in Dronninglund, Denmark, 1919.

Their mother had succumbed to the Spanish Flu the previous winter leaving my grandfather with three little children. No doubt he wanted the picture to show the rest of the family that he could take good care of the children. :)
