Outstanding photo, Esther.

Thanks for the question you asked about my orchids. The photos I'm posting now are all of tropical orchids that I grow at home. We also look for and photograph native orchids most of which would be impossible to grow at home (Vermont has around 50 of these native species).

I like the tanker on the horizon. This is a great rule of thirds composition.

Striking bird, and lovely angle in flight. The black bird is dramatic against the soft blues of the sea and sky.

Overall (In My Opinion) a lovely capture.

Very nice photo. The bird is in good focus but not completely silhouetted and the ship int he background adds a nice touch to what would otherwise probably not have enough interest. The depth of field adds nice distance to the shot and I like the fact that bird is flying partly in the direction of the viewer while the ship is moving away. That keeps the picture IMO from being too static.

Great shot.
The bird exactly on the horizon makes the photo what it is.
I like the ship, but it is a little to close to the bird.
