Il veut être une vigie sur l'exploitation qui, à ses dires, persiste encore de nos jours de façon détournée mais tout aussi inhumaine. Sa localisation au sein des Antilles françaises met l'accent sur le commerce triangulaire organisé par les nations occidentales du XVème au XIXème siècles, au profit de perspectives guidées par le seul expansionnisme au cœur de la nouvelle Amérique.
