Sierra Northern Railway is a short line operating in the Sacramento area. It connects various commercial areas with the major transcontinental railways, and also runs small tourist trains.
I could not find a description of this facility but considering its proximity to the new water intake facility and to the city water treatment facilities, this must be the older water intake facility.
Tower Bridge over the Sacramento River. Picture was taken from the west at sunset, looking towards downtown Sacramento. The bridge was built in 1935 as part of the New Deal, it is considered to be a remarkable example of the Streamline Moderne style of design.
Rumored to be the oldest standing wooden church in California. It no longer serves as a church (see adjacent picture), but is still used for various functions.
