Goldfield, Bullfrog Goldfield Railroad Yard (#1108)

Goldfield, Bullfrog Goldfield Railroad Yard (#1108)
The Bullfrog Goldfield Railroad Yard, with two boxcars that had actually once run on local rail lines. Per the walking tour booklet, the BGRR stopped running in Goldfield in 1928, thus these boxcars are at least 90 years old.

As noted in an earlier picture, efforts at attracting tourists seem to always be struggling, which is not surprising for a town of less than 500. You can see from the 2008 photo below that there is quite a bit of improvement since then, but the site of the railyard is still largely unmarked.

Interesting document with fine description. The image is precisely realized. I like.

Interesting how long ago the tracks were pulled up. IIRC the guy who built Scotty's Castle (whose name escapes me) bought most of the surplus ties, and they're stacked to this day on the grounds outside.
