Bandelier National Monument (# 0894)

Around Tyuonyi Pueblo, students who are involved in the Summer of Applied Geophysical Experience at Bandelier. The project, funded through the National Science Foundation (scheduled for funding cut by Trump administration), collects data useful for preservation and provides them with valuable hands-on experience. Just while passing students who were involved in the project I encountered students from diverse campuses including UC Berkeley and east coast schools.

The students here are plotting a path for using ground-penetrating radar to map artifacts (see adjacent photo).
