Interesting "Chevrolet" sign on an abandoned dealership in Willcox, AZ. Willcox is a small city in southeast Arizona, created by the railroads and now primarily agricultural, but apparently there's also a sizable 'snowbird' population in the winter.

That area also gets traffic from Texans looking to find some public land, at least if my El Paso kinfolk are any guide. They always used to go hunting around Willcox, even tho it involved buying out-of-state licenses and tags, because in Texas if you don't know a landowner there's no place to hunt!

And yet they supported Trump and the Repubs, who want to get rid of the public lands. Go figure--

There seems to be a lot of "if it's from Democrats, it's bad" regardless of what the consequences are. I will admit, though, that liberal/progressives need to find some way to reach these folks. A part of my agenda in exploring these sorts of places, and talking to locals, is to demystify 'California'. Didn't talk with anyone in Willcox, but had a long chat with a guy out walking near where I was photographing in Bowie.
