Palm Springs Ford TriMotor (#0139)
Historic Ford Tri-Motor owned by Liberty Aviation Museum, doing sight-seeing flights over Palm Springs. Built in 1928 and flying originally for Transcontinental Air Transport (forerunner to TWA). The plane was instrumental in the early development of transcontinental air service. The museum’s website provides interesting detail on the plane, with the Wikipedia providing more detail on its history and usage, including it’s strong similarity to the Fokker Trimotor of the same era.
