Back ca. 1966 we stumbled across the Kelso depot while on a day trip out of Vegas. It was still operational then, and I remember the little snack bar had these enormous sugar cookies. It was surreal--sort of like Shangri-La. I'm delighted it's been preserved.

They actually even managed to lease out the snack bar concession for a few years, but the guy who as doing it got a little too old for the trip down there and now the snack bar is idle again. It'd definitely something one would have to do out of devotion, there simply isn't enough traffic to make it work otherwise.
