Marfa, TX (2690)
Marfa is a very small town (about 2,000 pop) in west Texas, but with exceptionally nice preservation of various structures and apparently an active arts community. The main explanation I could find for why it was much better preserved than other similar cities was because of its location between two relatively popular (during the winter) tourists areas -- Big Bend NP and Davis Mountains. Part of the film Giant (Warner Bros, 1956) was filmed in Marfa.

This is the county courthouse. (The colors really were that intense!)
