Lake Owyhee, OR 0753a

The Owyhee Dam, completed in 1932, is considered to be a "New Deal" dam because it was completed during that era. The dam was the highest dam in the U.S. prior to the construction of Hoover Dam, and served as a test for some of the techniques subsequently used in Hoover Dam.
