Further south along US 6 are the remains of what was apparently the community of Warm Springs. The area has been abandoned for many years, though it is clear that the efforts to do something in the area have spanned many years.

I got gas there ca. 1980, but I don't know when it shut down. With all the current regulation it's basically impossible to have a low-volume gas station these days, which is why all these little ma'n'pa places in the middle of nowhere have shut down. Why you have to make sure and fill in town!
