Niland CA (486)

East of Red Hill and off the Sea is Niland. From the main highway, Niland looks like any typical small agricultural village -- but there's this surprising piece of architecture in the village . Around it are houses and trailers, so it doesn't look like it is part of the remnants of a downtown area. It would be unique even if it had been part of a business area -- it's triangular in overall shape (the streets cross at 45 degree angles), has a two-story columned portico, an inwardly curved line along the front at the street intersection, and rather complex ornamentation.
