Busto di Tiziano
Bust of Titian, marble, 1815
by Rinaldo Rinaldi.
In about 1970 my English teacher Mrs Sally Carr told me this limerick:
While Titian was mixing rose madder
his model was climbing a ladder.
Her position to Titian
was one of fruition
so he climbed up the ladder and had 'er.
You wouldn't think so to look at him now, would you?
