Sunday 14 August 2022 saw the first ‘Big Bus Show’ held at Stonham Barns about 8 miles east of Stowmarket in Suffolk. There were around 25 entries in the rally.

Sunday 14 August 2022 – ‘The Big Bus Show’ Rally held at Stonham Barns. Fareline Bus & Coach (Jeff Morss) of Wingfield near Eye NK54 NUH, a Wright bodied Volvo B7RLE new to Go-Ahead owned Go Wear (4978) in January 2005. The roofline graphics depict features from the north east of England notably the Tyne Bridge, Gateshead Millenium Bridge and the Angel of the North. Jeff has always added extra little features to his vehicles over the years. These include the Fareline logos either side of the destination display and one on each side windows mid-ships plus a triangular sign in the rear window. The small ‘WF’ is perhaps the London style garage code for Wingfield – although Jeff usually owns just one vehicle at a time which is parked at his rural home. With room for expansion his operator licence is for two vehicles. In the front windscreen he always displays the correct route number for the appropriate Suffolk County Council contracted service being operated. Currently the Bus Times website shows the Fareline portfolio to be four services: 319 Syleham-Eye High School (School pupils only schooldays only) 320 Eye-Bury St. Edmunds (Wednesdays only) 475 Eye-Diss (One way on Fridays schooldays only – no return trip) Service 170 is displayed in this photograph, a Mondays only service during the school summer holiday period to Felixstowe. The main points on the service are Stuston-Diss-Eye-Framlingham-Wickham Market-Woodbridge-Felixstowe also picking up at quite a number of other villages en route.

Whincop’s Coaches of Peasenhall near Saxmundham LPW 971 Sanders Coaches of Holt, Norfolk HV20 HRV, a Yutong ZK6938HQ new in June 2020 Smith’s Coaches of Blofield, Norfolk JKV 412V, a Plaxton Supreme bodied Bedford YMT. It had been new in December 1979 to another Smith’s, Smith’s Coaches of Alcester, Warwickshire. Privately owned hospitality vehicle V19 FLP, a LAG EOS. The small mural beneath the driver’s cab window depicts John Charles CBE (1931-2004), a Welsh born footballer. Preserved former London Transport AEC/Park Royal Routemaster RM857 (WLT 857).

Seamarks was based in Westoning about 10 miles north of Luton. Former Kenzie’s Coaches PEB 2R, a Plaxton Supreme bodied Bedford YMT new in April 1977.
