Saturday 21 March 1992 – Pioneer Travel Bus and Coach, owned by John Whitehead, was based in Smithy Bridge near Rochdale. HSC 174X was a Duple Dominant bodied Leyland Cub that had been new to Lothian Region Transport (174) in November 1981 and was seen in Rochdale bus station.

Easter Saturday 15 April 1995 – Pioneer Travel Bus and Coach, owned by John Whitehead, was based in Smithy Bridge near Rochdale. C46 HDT, an Optare bodied Dennis Domino that had been new to South Yorkshire PTE as their 46 in August 1985, seen in Rochdale bus station. Pioneer was subsequently acquired by First Group in the late 1990s.

Wednesday 11 October 1995 – Pioneer Travel Bus and Coach, owned by John Whitehead, was based in Smithy Bridge near Rochdale. E518 PWR, an Optare Citypacer bodied Volkswagen LT55 was new in August 1987 to Welwyn Hatfield Line, seen in Rochdale bus station. Pioneer was subsequently acquired by First Group in the late 1990s.

Wednesday 11 October 1995 – Pioneer Travel Bus and Coach, owned by John Whitehead, was based in Smithy Bridge near Rochdale. VCW 596Y, a Marshall Camair bodied Dennis Lancet that had been new to Blackpool Transport (596) in August 1982, seen in Rochdale bus station. Pioneer was subsequently acquired by First Group in the late 1990s.

K367 TJF, a Dormobile Routemaker bodied Mercedes-Benz 811D was in November 1992, seen in Rochdale bus station. Pioneer was subsequently acquired by First Group in the late 1990s.

Friday 12 August 1994 (approx. 1725) – Tees and District was created in February 1990 from the Cleveland and North Yorkshire coastal operating area of United Automobile Services which at the time was owned by Caldaire Holdings. In 1992 the company was acquired by the Westcourt Bus Group. Tees 5007 (H32 PAJ), a Leyland Lynx new in June 1991, was seen in queueing traffic outside Scarborough Railway Station working the return trip of service X79 to South Bank (Middlesbrough), a ‘Seaside Flyer’ service to cater for day trip traffic operating down from the North East in the morning returning in the late afternoon. The vehicle wasn’t doing much seaside flying here as it had taken the best part of 15 minutes to travel the short distance from the Somerset Terrace departure point. Road works in Falsgrave Road combined with Friday rush hour traffic creating significant delays. A United driver of another similar type service which departed Somerset Terrace 5 minutes later had travelled via York Place and the upper part of Westborough to then leave town via Northway and Burniston Road helped him avoid the delays.

In the background (left) is the Tesco store which was built on the site of East Yorkshire Motor Services bus station in Westwood and just out of shot to the left of the camera is where United’s Valley Bridge Bus Station was located.

Saturday 19 September 1992 – Tigerways of Harlow IIL 1640 seen at the Barton Mills Picnic Area (A1065). It is a Plaxton Paramount 3200 bodied Leyland Tiger (with low driving position) which I believe may have been new to Smiths-Shearings Holidays in April 1987 registered D585 MVR.

Saturday 28 May 1994 – Theobalds Coaches of Kensworth near Dunstable KFX 675, a MAN SR280 that had been new to Trathens of Yelverton in March 1981 registered NFJ 371W, seen at RAF Mildenhall.

Monday 14 August 1989 – Hell hath no fury than a tour organiser kept waiting! I'm glad I wasn't her last straggling passenger to return to the coach. Travel House of Newthorpe NRA 981W, a Duple Dominant III bodied Ford R114 new to Moxon of Oldcoates in February 1981, was seen in King’s Lynn awaiting the stragglers.

Monday 17 May 2021 (1125) – Provence Private Hire of St. Albans YJ67 GAX, a Beulahs Aura bodied MAN 25.500 new in February 2018, seen on the A11 at Barton Mills.

Tuesday 24 March 1992 – A Voel Coaches of Dyserth, North Wales Plaxton Paramount bodied coach seen heading westbound on the M6 Motorway near Coventry. It was travelling a little faster than the Plaxton Supreme coach in lane one.
