Sunday 20 May 2018 (1253) - Fenland Busfest, Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire. Dan’s Coach Travel of Stowmarket L872 SGW, a Van Hool Alizee bodied Volvo B10M new to Park’s of Hamilton in August 1993 registered HSK 649.

Sunday 20 May 2018 (1056) - The annual Fenland Busfest is impressively organised by the Eastern Bus Enthusiasts Group and staged in Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire. As part of the event a number of rally entrants participate in running on a network of free bus services throughout the day which depart from the Buttermarket, the main square of the town. Dan’s Coach Travel of Stowmarket L872 SGW, a Van Hool Alizee bodied Volvo B10M new to Park’s of Hamilton in August 1993 registered HSK 649. On the left is JOJ 489, a Crossley bodied Crossley DD42 that was new to Birmingham Corporation Transport (2489) in the summer of 1950.

Sunday 1 September 2019 (0958) – Dan Trent, once a driving colleague of mine, has set up his own business Dan’s Coach Travel of Stowmarket. He is at the wheel of L872 SGW when seen travelling along the A11/A14 east of Newmarket. The coach is a Van Hool Alizee bodied Volvo B10M new to Park’s of Hamilton in August 1993 registered HSK 649.

Sunday 1 September 2019 (0958) – Dan Trent, once a driving colleague of mine, has set up his own business Dan’s Coach Travel of Stowmarket. He is at the wheel of L872 SGW when seen travelling along the A11/A14 east of Newmarket. The coach is a Van Hool Alizee bodied Volvo B10M new to Park’s of Hamilton in August 1993 registered HSK 649.

Wednesday 1 June 2022 – Suffolk Show, Trinity Park, Ipswich. Four coaches in the coach park at the show which I could only photograph through the fence from the inside looking out! Normally my through the fence photography is from the outside looking in. The operators were Lodge’s Coaches, High Easter (Mercedes-Benz Tourismo); Dan’s Coach Travel, Stowmarket (Bova Futura YJ04 GYP); Kings Coaches, Stanway, Colchester (Mercedes-Benz Tourismo KC22 ABC) and Belle Coaches, Lowestoft (Mercedes-Benz Tourismo).

The rally is held in the town centre occupying Market Street (seen here) and Broad Street with the rally control/bus ride departures centred on the Market Place (to the left). Dan’s Coach Travel (owned by former work colleague Dan Trent) XIL 8515 is a Plaxton Cheetah bodied Mercedes-Benz O 814 named Doris. Dan was at the wheel as Doris headed into the Market Place to operate to Ramsey on one of the free services provided as part of the rally event.

Dan was at the wheel as Doris headed into the Market Place to operate to Ramsey on one of the free services provided as part of the rally event.

The rally is held in the town centre occupying Market Street and Broad Street with the rally control/bus ride departures centred on the Market Place. Dan Trent, a former work colleague at Mulleys Motorways, now runs his own coach business under the name Dan’s Coach Travel. Dan is seen here in the doorway of XIL 8515, a Plaxton Cheetah bodied Mercedes-Benz O 814 named Doris, just before operating to Ramsey on one of the free services provided as part of the rally event.

Sunday 8 May 2022 (1126) – The bus rally season is underway for 2022 and this gathering took place at the Mid Norfolk Railway in East Dereham. Exhibits included preserved and currently operational vehicles. Dan Trent, once a driving colleague of mine, runs his own business Dan’s Coach Travel of Stowmarket and is a regular participant at the East Anglian bus rallies with his vehicles taking part in road runs for the visitors. R372 LGH is a Northern Counties bodied Volvo Olympian that had been new to London General in January 1998 as their NV172. Alongside is Ipswich Buses 56 (PN52 XBK), an East Lancs bodied DAF DE02 new in October 2002.

Wednesday 28 September 2022 (1223) – Dan’s Coach Travel of Great Finborough YS03 ZKF seen parked in Bury St. Edmunds bus station. It is a Wright Eclipse bodied Scania L94UB that had been new to First Hampshire & Dorset (62410) in June 2003.

Also present were: YR52 VEH, a Wright Eclipse bodied Scania L98UB that had been new to Menzies Parking, Heathrow Airport in November 2002. T125 OAH, a Wright Renown bodied Volvo B10BLE that was new to Ambassador Travel in March 1999.
