Thursday 21 March 2024 (1221) – Peterborough bus station seen from the southern end. The passenger area is located on a central island linked by a bridge from Queensgate Shopping Centre (on the right – the glass of the bridge reflecting and blending with the background sky). At ground level pedestrian access is via road crossings.

Stagecoach East is the prominent local operator in the city and their buses load at stands on either side of the central island. Delaine Buses uses stands on the left of the island and National Express services at the far end on the right.

First Eastern Counties uses the first stand on the left for their ‘excel’ service to Norwich. Since these services are scheduled to arrive at 17 minutes past the hour (with that bus departing at 40 minutes past the hour) and 47 minutes past the hour (with that bus departing at 10 minutes past the hour), there are only short periods of time when the stand remains vacant. On stand is 36901 (YN69 XZD) which was the first of the 19 Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 City bodied Scania N250UDs delivered in late 2019.
