Late June 2000 (0755) – Arriva the Shires 3113 (L313 HPP) seen outside the Rose and Crown in Aston when working the service 390 from Hertford to Stevenage. It was a Northern Counties Paladin bodied Volvo B6-9.9M new in February 1994 to Luton & District Transport – a company which, through various takeovers, came into Arriva ownership.

A wonderful and interesting picture, which I like very much!
Very nice composition.
No longer a pub anymore, and not the best of roads to use for a big bus!

It is many years since I passed through Aston, Peter. It was one of my route options when travelling to work so most of my photographs were taken around 0800. I noticed on Streetview (dated 2021) that the Rose and Crown was closed but the Pig & Whistle still seems to be open.

During that time I witnessed the closure of the village shop also.
