Arriva the Shires 0451 (YS51 HDO) in Dunton 9 Apr 2002 (479-25)

Tuesday 9 April 2002 - Arriva the Shires was awarded the contract to operate services from a number of villages into Biggleswade (Reported in ‘Buses’ magazine April 2002 page 9).

The services, branded as the ‘Link’ were initially operated by two Optare Alero 14 seater buses numbers 0451 (YS51 HDO) and 0452 (YS51 HDN). I read that the two vehicles proved unreliable and within a short time the service was operated with traditional single deck buses.

0451 (YS51 HDO) was seen in Dunton bound for Biggleswade.
