Ron Frankel (ex Yelloway) NNC 853P in Rochdale – 10 Sep 1988 (74-12)
Saturday 10 September 1988 – Ron Frankel, owner driver and once a driver at Yelloway, operated NNC 853P a Plaxton Supreme bodied AEC Reliance that was new to Yelloway in April 1976.

The inset photograph shows the same coach at Corley Service Area on the M6 in July 1981 when I travelled from Rochdale to Bury St. Edmunds on the joint Yelloway/Premier Travel service 70 (Rochdale-Ipswich).

It was seen here in a yard in Holmes Street, Rochdale which was Ron's operating base also used by Enterprise Executive Travel. In a wish to establish a northern base Hallmark Coaches of Luton acquired the Enterprise business in early 1989.

This ground was once part of the Henry Nuttall (Rochdale) Limited factory site. The house in the background is the end property of a row of houses in Kathleen Street. That, and the fence behind the coach, formed two of the edges of a pen leased to or owned by my Uncle. There was a cluster of sheds and garages on the site which formed my playground in the 1950s/1960s.

John FitzGerald, Nouchetdu38, Fred Fouarge have particularly liked this photo

Yes Juan Luis. Ten or more years working on long distance services with a proud company gave another proud owner a very smart coach.
