Stagecoach East Midlands buses in Lincoln bus station - 28 Feb 2023 (P1140554)
Tuesday 28 February 2023 (1400) – Stagecoach East Midlands is a prominent operator of many local bus services in the city of Lincoln. (Services and vehicles being licenced under the Lincolnshire Road Car Company subsidiary).
Transbus President bodied Trident 18043 (MX53 FMJ) was seen in the Central Bus Station as it departed on service 1 to Wellingore which should have departed at 1345. Service 1 is the through route to Grantham operated hourly which is supplemented with short trips as far as Wellingore to give a service every 30 minutes between Lincoln and Wellingore.
The bus had been new to Stagecoach owned Greater Manchester South in September 2003. Between 2001 and 2004 Plaxton and Dennis were owned by Transbus International which sold their products under the Transbus name. Prior to the merger the President body was designed and built by Plaxton and the Trident chassis was built by Dennis Motors. Ultimately all came under Alexander Dennis (ADL) ownership.
Coming in behind from Wellingore on service 1 (and already signed for Grantham Rail Station which would depart at 1415) is Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 bodied Trident is 19148 (NK07 HBH) that had been new to Stagecoach Busways in May 2007.
Both wear the 2002-2022 era fleet livery. On the right are a couple of single deckers wearing one of the different liveries introduced in 2022.
