Stephensons 442 (YX10 FEH) entering the Mildenhall Hub - 19 Jun 2021 (P1080724)

Saturday 19 June 2021 (0950) – Public bus services began serving the new Mildenhall Hub site on Monday 14 June 2021.

Stephensons of Essex 442 (YX10 FEH) is seen about to turn to enter the site when working the 0910 service 16 from Newmarket to Bury St. Edmunds. It is an Alexander Dennis Enviro200 that had been new to Abellio owned Travel London (8531) in June 2010 for operation on Transport for London service contracts.

Both the eastbound and westbound journeys on this service call at Mildenhall Bus Station before travelling to The Hub and they then return to Mildenhall Bus Station. Broadly speaking this provides two buses per hour in each direction (plus other services operated by Mulleys and Coach Services).

The recently opened Mildenhall Hub is located on the western edge of the town centre and houses a number of different community facilities including the Council Offices, Clinic, Library, Leisure Centre, Swimming Pool, Police Offices, etc all of which were previously located in different parts of the town. Close by is the Mildenhall College Academy, created with the merging of the Mildenhall Upper and Riverside Middle Schools on the expanded site of the latter.
