Luton and District 406 (E970 NMK) in Drummer Street bus station, Cambridge – 18 Jul 1991 (144-35)
Thursday 18 July 1991 – Luton and District Transport 406 (E970 NMK), a Leyland Lynx that had been new to Jubilee Coaches of Stevenage in December 1987, seen in Drummer Street bus station, Cambridge.

L&DT applied local branding names to its services in the various towns it served like this one based at Stevenage garage branded as ‘Stevenage Bus’ – ‘Hitchin Bus’, ‘Luton Bus’ etc were others.
Through a succession of changes of ownership, the operator at Stevenage garage is rather detailed.
In September 1986 when London Country Bus Services, owned by the National Bus Company, was split into four smaller companies in preparation for privatisation, Stevenage passed to the new London Country (North East). In 1988 LC (NE) was bought by the AJS Group which created Sovereign Bus and Coach but in 1990 most of the Stevenage area operations were sold on to L&DT.
Jubilee Coaches had been absorbed by LC (NE) circa 1989 when the Lynx first changed hands.
