East Yorkshire 797 (BX14 SYT) (141 D 19194) in Hull - 2 May 2019 (P1010685)

Saturday 4 May 2019 (1144) – East Yorkshire 797 (BX14 SYT) is a Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B5TL that was new in early 2014 as a demonstrator with a number of energy saving features. The upper deck windows are shallower than on earlier Eclipse Geminis which goes towards reducing the overall vehicle weight. However, the glass panels in the staircase at upper deck seat level may add a little weight back. I don’t think that feature became standard. Initially it ran for about six months with Dublin Bus in Ireland (as DM1 (141D19194)) and was then shipped to mainland Britain for loan to other various operators having been registered BX14 SYT.

In June 2018 after thirty one years of independent ownership East Yorkshire became a subsidiary of the Go-Ahead Group.
