DSCF2802 The former Worswick Street bus station in Newcastle - 2 Jun 2018

DSCF2802 The former Worswick Street bus station in Newcastle - 2 Jun 2018
Saturday 2 June 2018 (1026) – The former Northern General bus station in Worswick Street, Newcastle-upon-Tyne stands in a sorry state nowadays. It opened in 1929 and closed in April 1996. Since then it has served as a car park.

This view is taken from Carliol Square looking towards Pilgrim Street. Buses entered the bus station through the doorway visible on the left then parked in their appropriate bay. On departure they then performed a hill start. The building with the lighter coloured frontage beyond the top loading bay was the bus company offices.
