Saturday 2 June 2018 (1024) – The former Northern General bus station in Worswick Street, Newcastle-upon-Tyne stands in a sorry state nowadays. It opened in 1929 and closed in April 1996. Since then it has served as a car park.

This view is taken from the Pilgrim Street end. Buses entered the bus station through the doorway visible beyond the green car in bay 3 then parked in their appropriate bay. On departure they then performed a hill start. The building with the lighter coloured frontage was the bus company offices on which can be seen the ghostly outline of the word ‘NORTHERN’ in National Bus Company style upper case lettering.
