Calderdale JOC 47 (PJX 47) in Halifax – Mar 1974

Calderdale JOC 47 (PJX 47) in Halifax – Mar 1974
March 1974 – Calderdale Joint Omnibus Committee had been created in September 1971 by the merger of the Halifax Joint Omnibus Committee and Todmorden Joint Omnibus Committee. The JOCs were part owned by their respective municipality and part owned by the local railway company. With regard to the Halifax JOC, the Corporation owned buses (‘A’ fleet) carried fleet numbers below 200 and the railway owned buses (‘B’ fleet) above 200.

Weymann bodied Leyland PD2/37 number 47 (PJX 47) was new to Halifax in December 1962. It was seen on the parking ground close to Crossfield bus station in Halifax.

On 1 April 1974 Calderdale JOC became part of the West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (WYPTE).
