Ellen Smith Seaside Express Services leaflets 1990s

Ellen Smith Seaside Express Services leaflets 1990s
In 1991 the Smith family sold the Ellen Smith (Tours) Limited business to Rossendale Transport who continued to use the well respected name and expanded the range of holiday service destinations.

The North Wales, Yorkshire Coast, Skegness and Morecambe services ran on Summer Saturdays for holidaymakers. (The extension from Scarborough to Whitby shown in the 1993 timetable had ceased the following year).

The Fylde Coast services ran throughout the year, daily in Summer but only on certain days during the rest of the year. The demise of Yelloway, which had worked these services since the 1930s, saw Rossendale step in to provide alternative facilities using service numbers that harked back to those created in the 1950s when Ribble, Yelloway and Standerwick created the Fylde Coast Services Pool using Ribble inspired ‘X something 9’ series of service numbers.
