DSCF4976 Arriva the Shires electric bus KP63 TDX in Wolverton - 1 Sep 2016

Thursday 1 September 2016 (1143) - Arriva the Shires 5003 (KP63 TDX) is an electric powered Wrightbus Streetlite which is seen on the recharging grid in Church Street, Wolverton – the northern terminus of service 7. The bus made a spirited run on the ride from CMK to Wolverton running about five minutes late when I boarded and the same upon arrival at Wolverton (1142 instead of 1137). By 1153 the bus was on its way again working what was the 1150 service. When travelling there was a background whine like a quiet engine added to which was the sound of the fans which the driver told be kept the batteries cooled with air drawn through the large roof mounted intake pod.
