Showbus, Sunday 21 September 2014 - East Kent Road Car CFN 104, a 1947/1948 Park Royal bodied Leyland Tiger PS1. The roofline panel shows 'Thanet & London via Ramsgate Broadstairs Margate & Canterbury'. The Thanet area lies at the most easterly point of Kent, once an island it has been part of the mainland since the Wantsum Channel silted up way back in the 1600s. EKRCC was perhaps the closest British bus operator to France and as a result was quite active in having its vehicles provide the British end of continental express coach services (such as Europabus the ancestor of Eurolines) or links from London to the Kent seaports and airports. Not quite sure how the destination blind on the front fits in (Switzerland Lucerne). Perhaps it was a tour destination.
