Preserved Grey-Green F143 PHM at Showbus - 21 Sep 2014 (DSCF6041)
Showbus, Sunday 21 September 2014 - Grey-Green Coaches (Cowie Group) 143 (F143 PHM), an Alexander RV bodied Volvo B10M Citybus new in November 1988 for operation on London bus route 24. The 24 service was the first central London bus route to be awarded to a private contractor under the then new tendering process effective 5 November 1988. Grey-Green placed 30 such buses in service to operate the route. In the early days of the tendering system the buses appeared in the liveries of the individual operators but in due course it was stipulated that red buses had to be operated. The Cowie Group later became Arriva.
