With snow on the way, if you are concerned about slipping on ice and snow, I can thoroughly recommend YakTrax (google them). If you have elderly relatives they are absolutely ideal, but don't let them wear them into the supermarket - will turn it into a skating rink! They would save thousands of broken hips every winter - the NHS would save a bundle distributing them free, to the doddery...

They make a good photo too in your hands........or maybe I should say feet. No snow here but they are promising some this week so I'll need to get mine out.

Thank you Jean. I can't imagine how we coped before we bought these. One of the youngsters could not believe how effective they were, when we first bought them, and set off to slide across our frozen pond. He stopped dead and fell flat on his face!
