Reflection on the road traveled.....

Reflection on the road traveled.....
Taken in Northumberland on the A68 road heading north to Scotland (on the distant horizon). The A68 is the most direct route between Darlington in the North East of England and Edinburgh. The road passes through the hills and open moorland of Northumberland National Park, crossing the boarder at Cater Bar, then onward through the beautiful countryside of the Scottish Boarders.

Carter Bar used to be a regular stopping point for us when I was young travelling from Tyneside to home in Scotland ( often on an Easter Monday after visiting relatives). There would sometimes be a Piper playing.

Thanks very much for the visit Colin. I'm going that way again tomorrow on the way to St. Andrews, taking my brother home after his recent visit. A great spot for landscape photography at Carter Bar, if the weather cooperates!

Thanks very much Bill, much appreciated. Just stopped for a snack and caught sight of the view backwards so I thought why not snap it.

All the best, Doug
