Large Fruit-tree Tortrix Female

20 Jul 2013 186
Sussex Moth Group Hastings Branch event at Filsham Reedbed 19 July 2013. I don't usually like shots in pots or lids but this female has very unusual marks and so this is more of a record shot for me.

Rufous Minor

Orchard Ermine

18 Jul 2013 92
Stars of the catch 17 July 2013. First to be photographed. We had a downstairs neighbour who has several fruit trees in their garden, I suspect that helps these, although they are polyphagous larva.

Lozotaeniodes formosanus

18 Jul 2013 133
Stars of the catch 17 July 2013. NFY A quite large and very colorful tortrix moth, the sun and background not helping here, but they have lovely pinks and orange scales.

Haworth's Pug

18 Jul 2013 173
Stars of the catch 17 July 2013. NFU Never had this little pug before, the abdomen's orangish color is diagnostic. Unfotunately they are not the most cooperative, and I had to take this shot where I could get it...lol

Stars of the catch 17 July 2013. First photographed. This is a migrant species, but quite common.
