Got the Raynox DCR-250 today and went immediately out into the garden to see what I could do with it.
This insect was about 3-4mm in length and maybe 2-3mm wide. I have to say I'm well impressed with what this lens is capable of with the super zoom I have on the Panny. Needless to say the focus is a bit tricky hand held, and its going to take lots and lots and lots and more and lots of practice :D!!!
More to come...

Update: Thanks to Mountainashe for correctly ID'ing these for me. Have a look at thier photo stream for some great Bug Art of different stages of bug life!
About the size of the tiny Orb weaver babies that form the balls, they seem to spread when disturbed but come back to congrigate at the egg pod.
They are black and red, six legs and two antanea, with a insignia on the red part of the shell.
Unfortunetly my equipment wouldn't allow for much clearer a shot at such tiny sizes.
Found in the Heath/grass area of Filsham Reed bed/Combe Haven Valley, East Sussex UK.

This is a crop to show more detail of the insects, and what appears to be a egg pod they have hatched from.

This photo almost does justice to how tiny they are, approx the size of a pencil led or a screw from a pair of glasses.
