I think something like that, my fungi books are packed away, and I was hoping you might know, as you know much more about them then I do. If you say its a finger, I agree :D

Well I can't be certain but it looks like Dead Man's Fingers,Xylaria polymorpha. Packed away.....are you moving!!??

Thanks Cheryl, no we have loads and loads and loads of books, so many they are in stacks, well last Oct when they came to do the Central Htg, we had to put many of them away, and a lot of my nature ones are in stacks behind my other halfs full service reference library...lol Its a bit like moving to have to dig into them and then redo the stacking.
