Stars of the catch for 29 May 2014.
Not the usual resting position for this moth, the larger the moth the more time they take to warm the muscles for flight.
So they open like this then vibrate for a bit before taking off.
You can see through the lower ends of his wings, this is actually normal for this species.

Thanks Cheryl, we have over 2500 species of moth, many are plain brown jobs but so many are beautiful! I really enjoy them (obviously...hahaha)
