The lion is watching you!
Der Bayerische Löwe ist mehrfacher Bestandteil des Bayerischen Staatswappens. Er ist zudem Symbolfigur des Freistaats Bayern, unter anderem auf Denkmälern und Auszeichnungen.

Der sechs Meter hohe, bewehrte Löwe sitzt, auf die Vorderpranken gestützt, auf einem dreistufigen Podest aus Nagelfluh und blickt zum Schweizer Ufer. Er wurde vor 1856 von Johann von Halbig in sechs Teilblöcken aus einem Kelheimer Marmorblock geschlagen und wiegt ca. 70 Tonnen.
