Embsay - toy locomotives
D1024 to the right is a f British Rail Class 47 diesel locomotive, now resting at Embsay Railway Station.
The black one was built in 1922 by Hudswell Clarke, works No. 1450. It worked at the British Steel plant at Scunthorpe as No. 8 Dorothy.
The red one was built in 1944 by the Hunslet Engine Company for the Ministry of Defence. It then entered service as WD 75118.
The green one to the left is "Monckton No. 1", was built in Leeds by Hunslets as their No.3788 in 1953 and was one of the later Austerity saddletanks.
