Here we go - Greta is waiting
Tomorrow we begin the sailing trip with the over 126 years old ship Greta to the Red Sand Forts....Actually I'll begin to post photos, the trip was on 26. Sep. ;-)
Launched in 1892 'GRETA' is one of the oldest remaining Thames sailing barges left in Britain. Greta is also a so called Dunkirk Little Ship. The Little Ships of Dunkirk were about 850 private boats that sailed from Ramsgate in England to Dunkirk in France between 26 May and 4 June 1940 as part of Operation Dynamo, helping to rescue more than 336,000 British and French soldiers who were trapped on the beaches at Dunkirk during the Second World War.
