The former beach doesn't exist anymore, all the sea here is covered by the Rio Blanco mud-flood caused by the 2008 eruption of volcano Chaitén.

Strandpromenade ohne Strand. Wahnsinn, was der Ausbruch da verändert hat!
Ich habe 2005 in Chaitén übernachtet, da war Aufbruchstimmung, viele neue hostales...

Aber die Chaiténer (?) lassen sich nicht unterkriegen, der Ort "funktioniert" wieder einigermaßen, es gibt Unterkünfte, Essen, der Fluss ist ausgebaut.......2010 war es noch ganz arg und depressiv, da hatte der Staat verboten, dass Siedler da bleiben, aber viele weigerten sich, mit Erfolg.
