HDR Experiment ... Photomatix Using 3 Images - Monochrome Preset
And picking up on Norm's suggestion in response to my last upload, this is what you get using the same 3 images in PhotoMatix when you process using one of the Monochrome presets.

Be interested to know what people think, but I'm kind of torn between this and the last one. I think Norm was inspired to suggest the mono approach!

Turning overdone HDR into black and white does not make any difference to me. Except... Perhaps more dramatic and therefore would be excellent material on some horror movie advertisement.

It certainly is an area that divides opinion Sami. Still, I prefer "overdone" to "bad", but then that's just a personal opinion too - lol! ;)

There is a lot going on above the church between the tree branches, clouds, and blue sky. Each would be a wonderful addition to the image on their own, but as a group they overshadow the church. I thought by taking out the blue it made the other two a little less powerful and the church a little stronger. Sometimes ... less is more. :-)
