Bulgaria, Sofia, Boyana Church
Boyana Church is a medieval church in Bulgaria. Located 8 km from Sofia, in the village of Boyana at the foot of the Vitosha Mountains. In 1979 it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
In the 10th century, the first small church was built in the village of Boyane in the name of Sts. Nicholas the Wonderworker and Sts. Panteleimon (right section in the photo).
At the beginning of the 13th century, a new two-tier church was added to this church (middle section in the photo).
At the beginning of the 19th century, the church ensemble was completed by the third building (left section in the photo).
