Wow, what a trip! "After 20 hours over the vast Pacific we get to land in the ocean, weather permitting or not." Great shot. To add to Davids article, here's one on the development of the first China Clipper service, for which San Francisco to Honolulu was the first leg.

Thanks, David and Rick! This is great information. So this was known as the California Clipper and then renamed the Pacific Clipper. And 1939 was its first year of service, so this photo must have been taken when it was brand new. Thanks!
