Dicyrtomina saundersi

Dicyrtomina saundersi
Dicyrtomina saundersi, a globular springtail exploring a leaf in my garden. These are extremely common at this time of the year. This specimen is about 1.5mm in length.

Wonderful macro!
You say common at this time of year but I bet 99 out of a 100 people have never heard of them, let alone seen them!

Thanks Andy, you are probably right in that most people have never seen these little beauties. They seem to appear in the garden during the shorter cooler days of winter before almost disappearing for the whole of the summer.
