Thats so true Andy, this one leads to a now deserted settlement called Brook Vessons, all that remains there are a few walls, boundary walls and a couple of fireplaces still with chimneys. The original paths there are green and beautiful, I think the last inhabitant left around the 1960's.

Thank you, Adrian - very interesting info.
You hear about depopulation from the black Death but not so much about much more recent population loss. (Although here in Spain is a permmanent topic of concern as villages and even towns are rapidly succumbing to rural depopulation big time!)
